Puffkalica

Situation

Croatian vape shop Puffkalica was opening a new shop in Zagreb. The shop is located in Ilica, a street with many shops, cultural sites, and 18th-century aesthetics. Owners wanted their shop to fit in and reflect traditional street look but retain recognizable and modern brand elements.

Solution

After studying 18th-century reference photos of Illica street, I’ve decided to copy a few features like embellishments, lines, and dark contrast colors. Inner borders and inverted corners gave shop windows a retro look. Decorations also blended well with modern typography, which was a connection between modern and traditional. The same design principles have been applied to all other use cases.
